Ricky Lam is a registered patent agent with the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO), and has prosecuted hundreds of domestic and international patent applications across multiple technologies and in all facets from disclosure to grant, including post-grant proceeds. A sampling of the technologies that he has successfully prosecuted includes circuits and passive components, semiconductor processing and manufacturing, 3D Printing technology, satellite network communication, lasers and optics, mechanical and robotic devices, vehicle fleet route optimization, and waste soil remediation.
Ricky began his career practicing at a Silicon Valley law firm, and then eventually managing another patent prosecution firm, where he was instrumental in growing it from a single patent agent to five registered practitioners, including attorneys and agents, and within a 12-month time frame. After leaving that position, Ricky started, and is currently maintaining, his own practice focusing on protecting innovations from small to large, private and public, companies, including individual inventors.
Aside from his practice, he is also the founder and CEO of an outsourcing company, Outsource Asia, which helps a wide variety of businesses take advantage of the current global economy that was once only accessible to large corporations. For example, Outsource Asia’s clients benefit from an oversea staff, such as paralegals, virtual assistants, website and software developers, bookkeepers, product manufacturers, and more.
Ricky grew up in the Sunset district of San Francisco, and attended a prestigious magnet institution in Lowell High School. While in college, he dropped-in into a variety of classes outside of his major due to his vast intrigue with different disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering, business, marketing, finance, computer science, and astronomy. He eventually earned his bachelor degree in biology from UCLA.
In his free time, Ricky enjoys spending time with his dogs, fishing on a lake, reading, traveling, and learning about the different cultures around the world.
