Nicole Hetz      she / her/ ella

Of-Counsel Attorney

Spanish-speaking attorney, barred in Oregon and Argentina

Experienced with contracts, business development, due diligence and corporate governance

Known for her delicious Argentine BBQs and backyard oasis featuring year-round, bright green grass

Nicole was raised in Chile but lived most of her life in Argentina, and identifies as a proud Argentine. Her hometown is Mendoza, famous for its wine, sun, and love of soccer. Nicole is the first member of her family to earn a law degree in two countries! In Argentina, she practiced business law for two years, during which she advised foreign companies on a broad scope of matters, including how to navigate the intricate Argentine legal system. She focused on corporate governance and strategic counsel for a diversity of foreign companies. She worked with a lot of clients looking to invest in wine production, which included the purchase of land that would later be converted to vineyards. Her favorite part of the job was to take care of the social responsibility companies have towards the community into which they invest. Often, companies change the landscape of established communities and her goal was to make sure that these communities receive the benefit of the investment as well, such as creating schools or jobs for that region.

Later on, life and love brought her to Portland, Oregon which she now calls home with her wife Molly and two dogs, Max and Mila. For her second round of law school, she enrolled at Willamette University College of Law in 2017. During her time at Willamette, she worked as an Extern for the Honorable Judge Tennyson at the Multnomah District County Court and Honorable Justice Adrienne Nelson at the Oregon Supreme Court. Nicole also had the opportunity to be president of OUTLaws, an LGBTQ organization for law students that supports diversity and inclusion on campus. Today, you can find Nicole spending her extra time with ORPIB (Oregon Pride in Business) as she became the Education Board Chair for the LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce in Portland. In this role, Nicole helps support queer small businesses by educating and training them on business related topics.

She is extremely excited to work with clients of diverse backgrounds and to bring more inclusion to the practice of law.
